NP Paklenica

NP Paklenica is a paradise for adventures tourists who enjoy hiking! It has taken a place on the Croatian biggest mountain called Velebit, in Dalmatia, near the city of Zadar. Paklenica is the home of more than 79 endemic plants, and the most famous one is called Pjeskarica.The great diversity, the presence of relict, endemic, rare, statutorily protected species make the Park a very valuable floristic area, not just in Croatia, but in Europe and the world as well. There are also 53 species of mammals at the park, including the brown bear as the biggest predator. NP annually attracts more than 100,000 visitors, and the most loyal visitors are climbers that from spring to autumn can be seen on the rocks of Paklenica, especially at the highest Croatian cliff Anica kuk (712 m). Paklenica covers an area of ​​96 km2. The highest peaks are Vaganski vrh (1757 m) and Sacred Hill (1753 m). In the national park there are several caves of which the most famous and largest is Manita, over the canyon, and cave Vodarica between Velika and Mala Paklenica.Paklenica National Park is the most visited climbing site in Croatia, and the largest in Southeast Europe. The close proximity of seawater gives this climbing site a special charm, making Paklenica Riviera an ideal place to combine climbing and water sports. Today, there are over 360 equipped and improved routes of various difficulty levels and lengths within Paklenica’s climbing sites.
